70 Years since the outbreak of the war
How to remember in the right manner? For example the Baltic States
It is a dark accumulation of days of memory ”70 years since the outbreak of war“. The most important date being the 1st September 1939, when the German Wehrmacht marched early that morning into its neighbouring country, Poland. Of course, that attack had many early indications and stages, finally being decided by the Hitler-Stalin-Pact of the 23rd August. It enabled both dictators to march into “their” respective halves of Poland without further risk and lead to the downfall of the three Baltic States.

Annual Network Conference 2009
The "Baltic Sea Forum" (BSF), which is a non-profit and non-government organisation, convenes at its annual conference in Lübeck, Germany, on September 3rd and 4th. Former Federal Minister Kurt Bodewig (MdB), president of this network comprising all Baltic Sea Countries, will have the honour of welcoming over 60 members and friends of this association which has been founded shortly after the fall of the wall in the historic Hoghehus of the Hanseatic city; among them the Ambassador of Estonia S.E. Dr. Mart Laanemäe as guest of honour.

Estonia to host Omega Mission Hills World Cup Qualifier
The Estonian Golf and Country Club will have the honour of hosting the 2009 Omega Mission Hills World Cup European Qualifier from September 24th to 27th. Two-man teams from around the globe are expected to battle it out for the three qualifying spots available and the chance to take part in the Omega Mission Hills World Cup at Mission Hills, China from November 26th to 29th. The PGA European Tour will have responsibility for overseeing the European qualifying tournament and will work closely with the both staff and members of the Estonian Golf and Country Club to deliver a memorable Estonian experience for competing players.

20th November 2009: 1st Baltic Sea Health Forum on Maritime, Environmental and Occupational Medicine
The organizers of the 1st Baltic Sea Health Forum aim to create a forum for high-profile researchers and opinion makers from the Baltic Region to share experiences and best practices in Maritime health. It is intended to identify areas of public health importance, foster the building of networks for ongoing communication by exchange of knowledge and to initiate cooperation and research in this important field.
